Since its launch in 2009, ThreatenedEnvironment (Meio Ambiente) has been a popular section with the Carioca public. The environmental sidebar brings together films that address the climatic, environmental and ecological changes that the world is facing, and not always in a positive light. This year the section’s documentaries look at issues such as animal exploitation, the construction of cities, the hunger crisis, overfishing and the destruction of ecosystems.
