On Saturday there will be a special salute to the much loved Brazilian actor and director Hugo Carvana with a screening at the Cinepolis Lagoon at 19.15 of a restored copy of Vai Trabalhar, Vagabundo, (Go to Work You Bum), which is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its first release.
Prior to that Eryk Rocha's documentary, Guardiões do Samba (Guardians of the Samba), that looks at the lives of some of the samba greats, will screen at Cinepolis Lagoon at 18.00. Part of Première Brasil: Portraits.
Première Brasil competitive screening also continue at the Cinepolis Lagoon on Saturday with the screening in competion of Chico Teixeira's Ausência (Absence) at 21.45 and the documentary My Name is Now, Elza Soares, directed by Elizabete Martins Campos at 17.00.
Director and screenwriter Marcelo Tobar will introduce Asteroide at CCBB at 15.00 on Saturday. The film is part of Focus Mexico. Anja Marquardt will then present She's Lost Control, a film about pretend intimacy and the inability to relate, at 19.30 at Estação Rio 1.
