RioMarket will climbed the highest peaks on Monday, 7 October, with a presentation that went behind the scenes of the production of a new documentary, “Aretha on Everest”, about the exciting and challenging journey of climbing the world's highest peak, Everest. The panel shared the team's experiences during the expedition, the technical and physical obstacles faced in extreme conditions, as well as the creative and logistical strategies needed to capture the images.
The talk was followed by the screening of “Aretha on Everest” the documentary about Aretha Duarte, the first black Latin American woman to reach the summit of Everest. The journey of the woman who left the outskirts of Campinas and used waste recycling to finance the climb brings much more than moments of tension on the mountain: it is a portrait of the challenges faced daily by black women in society.
