While Festival do Rio gets underway on the night of 3 October with the gala opening at the Cine Odeon, followed by the screening of Jacques Audiard’s award winning “Emilia Pérez”, RioMarket was up and running from the start of the day on Thursday in the Armazém da Utopia, where Alex Braga, Director-President of Ancine, presented a comprehensive overview of the Brazilian audiovisual market and discussed the opportunities, challenges and trends in the sector, highlighting Ancine's strategic role in fostering Brazilian production.
The event offered an up-to-date view of the audiovisual scene in Brazil, addressing public policies, new technologies and the global impact of Brazilian productions.
During Thursday RioMarket will also discuss sustainability on the film set; executive production in the audiovisual industry; and the importance of developing a solid and permanent cultural policy in Brazil. There will also be business meetings between Brazil’s major production companies, networks and distributors, and filmmakers.
