Given that Rio de Janeiro is one of the world's most musical cities, Festival do Rio has programmed three days of “cinema and music” from 10 to 12 October in Cinelândia at the Teatro Rival where the Brazilian record label Biscoito Fino is pesenting “Rio, Pipoca e Biscoito” (Rio, Popcorn and Biscuit) with artists such as Alcione and Fabiana Cozza, who opened the shows on 10 October; Leila Maria, Zélia Duncan and Jaques Morelenbaum who performed on 11 October; and finally tonight (12 October) Silvia Machete, Rico Ayade, Caio Prado, João Fênix, Filipe Catto and As Chicas. Some artists have presented new works, while others are performing works featured in films.
Tonight, 12 October, and for the second consecutive year, the Petrobras Symphony Orchestra will perform at Festival do Rio and this year it will present a concert at the Teatro Riachuelo featuring the music from the films of director Tim Burton .
