ANTÔNIO PITANGA (PRESIDENT)


Born in 1939, in the city of Salvador, Pitanga is one of the greatest actors in Brazilian cinema. Since the 1950's he has starred in over 90 films, including many great classics that have marked Brazilian cinema history, such as “O Pagador de Promessas”, “A Grande Feira”, “A Idade da Terra”, “A Mulher de Todos”, “Joana Francesa”, and many others, as well as plays and soap operas. Throughout his career, he has had a commitment to culture, education, the struggle of black people and the fight against all forms of discrimination.


ANDRÉIA HORTA


The actress and presenter from Minas Gerais is recognised for the characters played in the series “Alice” (HBO, 2008), in the soap opera “Imperio” (Globo, 2014), in the feature film ELIS (2016), for which she won Best Actress awards at the Gramado and Luso-Brazilian film festivals, the APCA Trophy and the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix, in "Liberdade, Liberdade"(Globo, 2016) and "Um Lugar ao Sol" (Globo, 2021), just to name a few. Airing since 2018 in "O País do Cinema" (Canal Brasil), Andréia Horta receives on the show guests such as actors, directors and producers to talk about the seventh art.


BERNARD PAYEN


After having created several magazines (print and online), Bernard Payen joined the Cinémathèque Française in 2001. Programming manager since 2011, he organises regular meetings dedicated to contemporary filmmaking. He was Curator of the short film section of the Semaine de la Critique, and has also made several films, including Mister H (2013), a co-production with Brazil, and continues his journalistic activities in parallel, for television (Arte) and radio (Aligre Fm).


ELEONORA GRANATA JENKINSON


Eleonora Granata Jenkinson began her career at RCS Films and Television and was a production and acquisition executive at Turner Pictures. In 2014 she founded Melograno Films, producer of Andrea Pallaoro's “Medeas”; Rhys Graham's “Galore”; and “Ukraine on Fire”, with Oliver Stone.


CLÉLIA BESSA


With a degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a post-graduate degree in "Technologies Applied to Education" from PUC-RJ, Bessa has been a partner at Raccord Produções Artísticas since 1996, in charge of Production for all of the company's projects. She has produced over 1000 hours of television programming as well as 20 feature films, including “Desenrola” (Rosane Svartman); “Cartola: Música para os Olhos” (Lírio Ferrreira and Hilton Lacerda); “Separações” (Domingos Oliveira); “Correndo Atrás” (Jefferson De); “Missão Cupido” (Rodrigo Bittencourt); “Madalena” (Mardiano Marcheti); and “Onofif” (Lírio Ferreira), currently in post production, She has been a Board Member of BRAVI - Brasil Audiovisual Independente - since its founding in 1999.


JOÃO JARDIM


One of the most active directors of his generation in Brazil. His first film was the acclaimed documentary “Janela da Alma”. His filmography includes fiction features “Getúlio, Amor?” and “As Polacas”, currently in post production. He is director and co-director of the award-winning documentaries “Pro Dia Nascer Feliz” and “Lixo Extraordinário” (“Waste Land”), the latter nominated for the Academy Award for best documentary feature in 2011, and creator and director of the series “Liberdade de Gênero” and “Amores Livres”.
