Films screening in competition in Première Brasil at the Odeon Petrobras on Tuesday include the documentary City of God – 10 Years Later by Cavi Borges & Luciano Vidigal. This doc does what it says on the label and examines what has happened to the cast of Fernando Meirelles and Katia Lund’s critically and publically acclaimed City of God ten years on, of which the most famous internationally will probably be the actor and musician Seu Jorge.

The feature drama screening in competition for Première Brasil on Tuesday is Tattoo (Tatuagem) by Hilton Lacerda.As the military regime starts to loosen its grip on Brazil (1978), Tattoo follows the romance between a young 18 year old soldier and a cultural agitator who owns an anarchist cabaret. The conflicts and reflections of a generation are analyzed from its margins.
