No time for the Monday morning blues at Festival do Rio. After a busy weekend Première Brasil continues at the Cinepolis Lagoon with the screening in competion at 21.45 of Lírio Ferreira's Sangue Azul (Blue Blood) and at 17.00 Rodrigo MacNiven's documentary O Estopim (The Trigger)

Sangue Azul (Blue Blood) offers a parallel between cinema and circus that speaks of the sea, art and love. Twenty years ago a 10-year-old boy was separated from his sister on a volcanic and paradisiacal island. The mother, fearful that an incestuous attraction would develop between the two, sent her son to the mainland with Kaleb, a magician from the Neptune Circus that had visited the island. On the mainland Kaleb teaches the boy the ways of the circus and its spirit, and the ex-islander becomes Zolah, the Bullet Man. Zolah returns to the island with the circus.

O Estopim (The Trigger) tells the stroy of Amarildo who was murdered by the military police inside the headquarters of the Rocinha Police Pacification Unit in July 2013. The courage of his family and friends became a symbol of resistance and the fight of civil society against state violence. The case was the catalyst not only for mobilizing other communities, but mainly to expose the weaknesses of the project of militarized public security.

Monday will also see director Margarida Cardoso introduce Yvone Kane at Estação Rio 2 at 19.00. This will be followed at 20.15 by Local God (Dios Local), part of Midnight Terror, that will be presented by its director Gustavo Hernandez and producer Ignacio Garcia Cucucovich.

At 21.30, Argentine director Daniel Burman (Lost Embrace and Empty Nest) will present his latest feature The Mystery of Happiness (El misterio de la felicidad) in Estação Rio 1 along with the actress Inés Estevéz. The film is about love and loyalty. The story of  Eugenio and Santiago, partners and longtime friends. One day, Eugenio disappears without a trace. Santiago notices his absence, but only realizes the seriousness of the situation when Laura, his friend's wife, tells him that Eugenio has left her. Together they set off from Argentina for Brazil to try and understand his disappearance. But gradually the feelings between them get mixed.

After five days when the focus has been on TV, RioMarket turn its focus to film on Monday with a series of industry seminars throughout the day that will be looking at co-production opportunities.
