Que Horas Ela Volta? (The Second Mother) by Brazilian director Anna Muylaert won the Panorama Audience Award for fiction film at this year's Berlin Film Festival. The film also won the CICAE Art Cinema Award.

Chile's Pablo Larraín won the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize for El Club (The Club), and Chile's Patricio Guzmán won the Silver Bear for Best Script for El botón de nácar(The Pearl Button) . The film also won the prize of the Ecumenical Jury.

Other winners from Latin America included Mexico's Gabriel Ripstein who won for Best First Feature with 600 Millas (600 Miles), while Chilean director Sebastián Silva's Nasty Baby won the Teddy Award for the best feature, while the Teddy for best documentary went to El hombre nuevo (The New Man) by Uruguay's Aldo Garay, a Uruguayan/ Chilean co-production.

In the main competition, Iranian director Jafar Panahi's Taxi won the Golden Bear for Best Film.

SILVER BEAR FOR BEST ACTRESS: Charlotte Rampling in "45 Years" by Andrew Haigh
SILVER BEAR FOR BEST ACTOR: Tom Courtenay in "45 Years" by Andrew Haigh
SILVER BEAR FOR BEST SCRIPT Patricio Guzmán for "El botón de nácar" (The Pearl Button) by Patricio Guzmán
SILVER BEAR FOR OUTSTANDING ARTISTIC CONTRIBUTION in the categories camera, editing, music score, costume or set design: Sturla Brandth Grøvlen for the camera in "Victoria" by Sebastian Schipper
ex aequo - Evgeniy Privin and Sergey Mikhalchuk for the camera in "Pod electricheskimi oblakami" (Under Electric Clouds) by Alexey German Jr.
