In Real Life with Beeban Kidron How does today's mobile generation cope with the real world? Or don't they?
Beeban Kidron's documentary In Real Life, which premiered in Toronto, asks what will happen to those generations that have never experienced any other sort of life other than one that involves the omnipresence of mobile web devices and digital technologies. The term that gives its name to the title – IRL – is the way this new generation refers to the offline world. To better understand this logic, Kidron interviewed both teenagers and scholars related to digital media to reach some conclusions that every parent needs to be informed about.
In Real Life screens on Tuesday, 8 October at 18.30 at Oi Futuro Ipanema; and Thursday, 10 October at 17.50 at Estação Botafogo. Kidron will introduce the Tuesday screening in Ipanema and also do a Q&A with the audience.
