The Brazilian-French co-production, Amazonia, filmed in 3D and directed by Thierry Ragobert, opened Festival do Rio at the Odeon Petrobras on Thursday, 26 September to an invited audience of guests.

The general festival going public get two chances to catch the film prior to its full Brazilian release, with screenings at 19.30 at the Cine Carioca on Friday (27 September) and at the São Luiz 3 at 16.30 on Saturday (28 September).

Amazônia closed the Venice Film Festival on 8 September and also screened in Toronto prior to its arrival in Rio.
