It was a national holiday in Brazil on 12 October, although not for Festival do Rio or the Rio Market which were as busy and active as ever.

12 October, is also the day the Christ the Redeemer Statue on Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro celebrates its birthday. In 2023 the 92nd since its opening.

The top prizes at the festival - which will be revealed on Sunday, 15 October, are the “Redentor” trophies which are, of course, inspired by Rio’s globally iconic landmark.
