The closing Brazilian gala on Saturday at 19.30 is Maurício Eça’s “Maníaco do Parque” (The Park Maniac), an Amazon Original production from Santa Rita Filmes that is based on a true crime. The film stars Giovanna Grigio as journalist Elena and Silvero Pereira as the Brazilian serial killer, Francisco, a motorbike courier convicted of attacking 23 women in São Paulo and murdering ten of them. The film will screen on Prime Video from 18 October 2024.
The closing international gala at Cine Odeon at 21.45 on Saturday is Edward Berger’s “Conclave” that is based on Robert Harris' 2016 novel of the same name. In “Conclave” Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is tasked with leading one of the world's most secretive and ancient events, selecting a new Pope, and finds himself at the centre of a conspiracy that could shake the very foundation of the Catholic Church. The cast includes three Oscar nominees: Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and John Lithgow.
