The main Brazilian gala at the Cine Odeon Friday at 21.45 is “MMA: Meu Melhor Amigo”, directed by six time Emmy nominee, José Alvarenga Jr.

The film, of which there will be high expectations at the Brazilian box-office when it opens in January 2025, tells the story Max Machado, an MMA fighter at the end of his career, seeking one last big fight when he discovers he has an 8-year-old autistic son, and the boy's mother has just passed away. While training for a chance to fight for the title against the world champion, Max faces both internal and external conflicts as he tries to take care of Bruno. The fighter finds support from Laís, the boy’s mother’s best friend, and, during the process, reconnects with his own father. Max faces the challenge and learns to care for his family, while preparing for the biggest fight of his life.
