Throughout its short life, a dachshund puppy goes through the hands of four owners. She teaches a little boy contorted life lessons. She is then adopted by Dawn Wiener, a veterinarian technician, who, after reconnecting with someone from her past, sets off on a road trip. After leaving her owner behind, the little dog goes on to meet a floundering film professor and an embittered elderly woman and her greedy granddaughter. Directed by Todd Solondz, this dark comedy brings back Dawn Wiener’s character, the protagonist of his film Welcome to the Dollhouse. Sundance 2016.
