Documentary TWENTY is a celebration of two decades of Brazilian cinema, showcasing the role played by RioFilmes in its recent history. It was founded in late 1992, right after Fernando Collor’s impeachment and some time before the Audiovisual Act. RioFilme is the child of our setting as a democracy and the mother to the movement we call the “retomada”, which contributed to and set off several different periods in Brazilian cinema. This lead up to current strengthening of its economy and the multiplication and diversity of its films.
