In 2008, at the height of debate on bullying in the US, a crime shocked the country: a 14 year old boy fired two shots to the head of a classmate, an effeminate 15 year old boy. In this poignant documentary, newcomer director Marta Cunningham shows how homophobia, sexism, racism and social prejudice permeate the American way of life, while also shedding light on how unprepared the American judicial system is to handle crimes perpetrated by teenagers. Finally, the movie also showcases one society’s intolerance towards gender nonconformists. Sundance Film Festival 2013.
