The son of master Max Ophüls, Marcel has also developed a very distinctive style of filmmaking. In this film he shares memories of his life and career in a witty, bittersweet journey through the history of cinema. As he himself has said, “there is no such thing as a filmmaker without memories”. Marcel talks with and about personalities he greatly admires, such as actress Jeanne Moreau, playwright Bertold Brecht, filmmakers Ernst Lubitsch, Otto Preminger, Woody Allen, Stanley Kubrick and his great friend François Truffaut. Cannes and Toronto 2013.
