Facing a personal crisis, Augusta, an Italian girl, travels far away from home in search of a meaning for her life. Faithful to her catholic upbringing, she decides to follow a nun who ministers in indigenous villages along the Amazonas River, in Brazil. Little by little, disillusioned by the hierarchic nature of the work, Augusta opts to stay at the harbor in the city of Manaus, where she joins one of the families of a nearby slum. When tragedy strikes, she embarks on a daring journey of self-discovery in utter isolation, through which she is finally able to find herself. Sundance 2013.
Giorgio Diritti
Born in Bologna, 1959. Worked as assistant to several great Italian filmmakers, most notably Federico Fellini, Ermanno Olmi and Pupi Avati. His first feature film, The Wind Blows Round (2005), was shown at more than 60 festivals around the world. With The Man Who Will Come (2009), he took part in the official competition at Rome Film Festival, where he was awarded the Grand Jury Prize. He also directed the documentary Piazzàti (2009).
