Ireland, 19th century. Miss Anna O'Donnell stops eating, but she remains alive and well. The English nurse Lib Wright arrives in the village to observe the 11-year-old girl, who starts to attract more and more tourists and pilgrims as the months go by. Is she a saint or are there strangers things at work? Inspired by the many cases of "fasting girls" centuries ago and based on the novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue.
