With the death of his older brother, Larry Talbot returns to his family home in Wales after spending 18 years in the United States. There he meets the lovely young Gwen Conliffe. One night, the two, in the company of Jenny Williams, Gwen’s friend, go out for a walk on a field inhabited by gypsies. Jenny is attacked by a werewolf which Larry is able to kill although not before being bitten by it. They soon discover that the werewolf was a gypsy called Bela. At this moment the gypsy’s mother tells Larry that he will become a werewolf and that he will turn into a wolf every full moon night.
