Trailer
Built around extensive footage discovered in warehouses all over the United Kingdom, this new film by Ken Loach (My name is Joe, Land and Freedom) centers around the spirit of union which took hold of the UK in 1945, the last year of the Second World War. By doing this, the film sheds light on a time that is essential to the making of modern England, as some of its impacts are felt even now, such as the creation of the Welfare State. This feature-length film marks the filmmakers’ return to documentary cinema. Selected to the Berlin Film Festival 2013.
