Ingrid and Martha were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter, and they were separated by the circumstances of life. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation. Golden Lion Venice 2024.
Pedro Almodóvar
Spanish filmmaker born in 1949. His films are marked by melodrama, irreverent humour, exuberant art direction and complex narratives. Winner of two Oscars: Best Foreign Language Film Tudo sobre Minha Mãe (1999) and Best Original Screenplay for Fale com Ela (2002). Desire, family and questions of gender and identity are frequent themes in his filmography, which includes Má Educação (2004) and The Skin I Live In (2011).
