Ukrainian filmmaker born in 1964. Graduated in Applied Mathematics, he worked as an artificial intelligence researcher in the 1980s. He studied cinema in Moscow and started making movies in 1996. Comprised of 25 documentaries and 4 fiction films, his filmography includes My Joy (2010), In the Fog (2012), Maidan (2014), A Gentle Creature (2017), and Donbass (2018).
