Three friends in their forties are reunited after decades at the funeral of a college friend who has just committed suicide. Elise is an alcoholic actress, Brenda is depressed and Annie is going to couple’s counseling. They find that they have something in common: their husbands have all recently ditched them for younger women. That’s when they decide to join forces to plot revenge against their exes, with a little help from their family and friends. A surprise hit in 1996, it was on of the year’s highest-grossing films. Nominated for a Best Soundtrack Oscar.
Hugh Wilson
Born in Miami, in 1943. A multitalented professional, he has worked as a director, screenwriter, producer and eventually actor. After directing television series, his directorial debut was the comedy Police Academy (1984). He specialized in the genre, with films such as Burglar (1987), Guarding Tess (1994), Blast from the Past (1999) and Dudley Do-Right (1999). His most recent film is sports drama Mickey (2004).
