With the onslaught of AIDS, two completely different women – Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor and scientist Dr. Mathilde Krim – joined forces to create the first foundation and research center devoted to the illness. Founded in 1985, amfAR finances projects which aim to make the disease better understood and provides solid grounds for furthering treatment. This film is the story of an uncanny partnership, full of compassion and courage, which has forever changed the struggle against HIV.
