For two years, Iraqi director Abbas Fahdel followed the expectations and lives of his own family, before and after the American invasion of Iraq. This powerful chronicle of everyday life in the country brings to life a saga that moves as slowly as the river that crosses Baghdad. Here, the tragedy and dignity of the Iraqi people appear on the screen in their most intense moments. The documentary is fundamental to understanding the Middle East of past and present. This first part of the film ends with the beginning of the American invasion of Baghdad. Tribeca Festival 2015.
