Salafist propaganda, used to recruit young men to jihad, promises that martyrs for Islam will be welcomed in paradise by 72 beautiful virgins. Trying to understand how this is seen by youngsters in her country, Nedjma, an Algerian journalist, sets out to explore how her fellow citizens envision the afterlife. She and her colleague Mustafa embark on a trip that takes them from Algiers to the rural south, meeting with artists, boys on the street, religious personalities, and political activists, reflecting on what happens when death is the yardstick for how people live their lives.
