​In the early 20th century, in the small rural community of Kinraddie, in Scotland, young Chris is approaching adulthood. She is passionate about life, about her land and Ewan, an unstable young man. Chris tries to deal with the limits of her love, while her family suffers from a deep tragedy, in a period of radical social change. First World War is about to start. Based on Lewis Grassic Gibbon’s classic novel, directed by Terence Davies(The House of Mirth, The Deep Blue Sea). San Sebastian Festival Official Selection 2015.​
