Rodrigo Plá
He was born in Uruguay but lives in Mexico. His directing debut was Novia Mía (1996), winner of best short film at Biarritz Film Festival. His first feature, The Zone (2007), won best debut film at the Venice Film Festival and won the FIPRESCI awards at the Toronto Festival, best director at Cartagena Film Festival and best film at the Stockholm Film Festival. The Desert Within (2008) won seven awards at the Guadalajara Film Festival, among others
