Denis Villeneuve
He was born in Quebec, Canada, in 1967. In 1994, his short film REW-FFWD was shown at Locarno. His debut feature film, Un 32 aout sur terre, was shown at Un Certain Regard in Cannes in 1998. For Maelstrom, he won the FIPRESCI award at the 2001 Berlin Film Festival. His feature Incendies (2010) was nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film, and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Rotterdam Film Festival. In 2013, he directed Prisoners.
