Polish ornithologist Anna was visiting Africa in 1994, when the genocide of the Tutsi population , killed by the Hutu majority in Rwanda, had began. During the massacre, Anna manages to save Claudine, the daughter of a colleague, who’s family was murdered. Without many options, she takes the young girl with her to Poland. Gradually, the traumas lived in the massacre, as well as their explosive temperament, will make this relationship impossible. Claudine is unwilling to play the victim, and, in defiance of the scientific career Anna has devised for her, she will return to Rwanda.
