Biopic of Polish artist Wladyslaw Strzeminski, who refused to bend to the official ideology of the government, even when threatened. In postwar Lodz, he teaches at the Higher School of Plastic Arts. His ideas, set out in a book he wrote about art, go against what Stalin imposed on the country - social realism and superficial positivism. The story of a man who, even without a leg and an arm, fought against hatred and indifference of the authorities. A force of nature, Strzeminski is still idolized through generations of artists. By director Andrzej Wajda. Toronto 2016.
