In February 2012, three members of feminist punk rock group Pussy Riot staged a protest inside Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior against the union of State and Church perpetrated by Russian president Vladimir Putin. They were arrested and charged with religious intolerance, becoming the protagonists of a trial that called the world’s attention to contemporary Russian society. This documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at the trial, featuring yet unseen archival footage and interviews with the defense attorneys involved in the case and defendant’s relatives.
