Karoline, a young factory worker, is struggling to survive in post WW1 Copenhagen. When she finds herself unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar, a charismatic woman running an underground adoption agency. Karoline takes on the role of a wet-nurse and the two women develop a close bond, but Karoline’s world shatters when she stumbles upon the shocking truth behind her work. Inspired by a true story. Magnus Von Horn
Born in 1983 in Sweden, has lived in Poland for nearly 20 years and teaches at the Polish National Film School. His debut feature, The Here After (2015), in Swedish, premiered at Quinzaine des Realisateurs in Cannes. His second film, Sweat (2020), in Polish, was part of Cannes’ official selection. His third film, The Girl with the Needle, is in Danish.
