Suellen, a toll booth attendant, realizes she can use her job to raise some extra money illegally. But this is only for a so-called noble cause: to send her son to an expensive gay conversion workshop led by a renowned foreign priest. Screened at TIFF and at the San Sebastián Film Festival 2023.

Screenwriter and director based in São Paulo, Brazil. She has written and directed six short films selected to 400 festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Toronto, SXSW, and AFI and awarded more than 60 times. Her short The Orphan (2018) premiered in the Director’s Fortnight and was the winner of the Queer Palm at Cannes. She was invited to be a member of the AMPAS. She won the Best Screenplay award at the Rio Int'l Film Festival for Charcoal (2022), her first feature film.
