Trailer
The electro singer’s first behind-the-camera effort is impressive due to its cohesiveness and extravagance, traits that make the documentary look like a fictional film – and vice-versa. Mixing genres and sexualities in a mock-saga, the film got praise from Rolling Stone (in which it was compared to a modern Rocky Horror Picture Show) and the Hollywood Report (in which the film was said to look like the story of Lady Gaga as written by John Waters). Transvestites, simulated sex and garish humor turn this musical into a comic opera for the 21s century. Opening film at London Sundance 2013.
