​Ryoichi, a frustrated musician, is mistreated every day by his work colleagues. Keen to bring some happiness to his life, he adopts a little turtle called Pikadon. But his colleagues do not allow him to be happy and force him to flush the turtle down the toilet. Ryoichi is devastated, but his sadness ends up taking him back to music. Meanwhile, Pikadon is rescued from the sewer by an old man who gives him the power to grow and to speak. Soon, Ryoichi and Pikadon will meet again. Directed by Sion Sono (Tokyo Tribe).​

Sion Sono

​Born in Japan in 1961. He began his career as a poet at the age of 17. Whilst at the University of Hosei, he made films on Super-8. His first feature was Bicycle Sighs (1990), a hit in Japan. With Suicide Club (2001), he became known in the West. He directed films such as Guilty of Romance (2011), Why Don’t You Play in Hell? (2013) and Tokyo Tribe (2014), all shown at the Rio Film Festival. ​
