Childhood sweethearts, Carmen and Alfredo lead a happy life in a township near Mexico City. When Alfredo gets a promotion, the couple is forced to move to the capital and adjust to the rhythm of the metropolis. New values and relations make them face an ancient condition that hadn’t really bothered them up until now: they are both quite overweight. Bothered by the malicious comments they hear left and right, the lovebirds decide to exchange their doughnuts for salads. But new problems arise when only one of them manages to lose weight.
