The nobleman Orlando is condemned by Queen Elizabeth I to remain forever young, crossing the centuries experiencing lives, partners and emotions. After being part of England’s history for 400 years as a man, Orlando returns to life in the body a noble woman. At this stage of his endless journey, he will learn about a life and love as he more intensely approaches one's own sex. An oneiric journey through the history of England, based on Virginia Woolf's feminist romance, with Tilda Swinton. Nominated for two Oscars and screened at the 1992 Venice Film Festival.
Sally Potter
Nasceu em Londres, em 1949. Fez seus primeiros curtas aos 14 anos, com uma câmera 8mm. Desde 1969 trabalha como cineasta, performer, coreógrafa, dançarina e musicista. Em sua filmografia destacam-se ainda The Tango Lesson (Veneza 1997), Porque choram os homens (Veneza 2000), Yes (Toronto 2004), Rage (Berlim 2009), Ginger & Rosa (Toronto 2012) e A festa (Berlim 2017), também exibido nesta edição do Festival.
