Onoff is a world-famous writer who has not published a new book for some time and increasingly revels in his reclusive personality. One night during a storm he is picked up by the police without any kind of identification or memory of recent events, perplexing the authorities. During the interrogation, a literature-loving inspector tries to work out what happened during that afternoon and immerses himself in the mind of his admired author to reveal a mysterious crime. While at university he began to be interested in cinema, and became director's assistant both to Paulo Caldas, in the film O Bandido da Sétima Luz (1986), and to Cláudio Assis, in the film Henrique (1987). In 1992 he released his first short film, O Crime da Imagem, winner of the TV Bandeirantes/Banco do Brasil Prize for Best Short Film of the Year. Directed prize-winning films, like Perfumed Ball (1996), Árido Movie (2005) e Cafi (2021) — codirected by Natara Ney.
