​Anselmo is 10 and his father was recently murdered. Escaping from his mother’s scolding, he dives into the river and swims to the bottom. Coming back to the surface, he finds a body being swept downstream. He decides to follow the body, in an experience that will force him into adulthood. Epifanio is a 50-year-old country bumpkin who lives alone, with his mule and his dog, at the top of a mountain. His peaceful life will suffer with the arrival of a wave of violence sweeping the country. These two parallel stories are connected by the river, whose waters demand that the dead be hidden.​

Carlos Tribiño Mamby

​Born in Colombia, he studied cinema at the University of Catalunia, specialising in directing. He wrote and directed the short Lux Aeterna (2013), which won the Dom Quixote prize at the Krakow Film Festival. This is his first feature.​
