In 1984, Punjab was in a state of paranoia, fear and mistrust. In this context, two stories unfold. In the first, two Hindu friends try to travel to Amritsar. Five months before, a peasant was forced to kill the family’s dog. These apparently isolated episodes are based based on a single story, one in which people face what they have seen as in a relay race. A common man divided between military abuse and the violence of separatist movements will be the key to these two worlds. Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2015.
