​By means of interviews with residents and technical experts, this documentary comments on the transformation of Rio de Janeiro’s port, amid the significant reconstruction brought about by the Porto Maravilha project. The film looks at the cultural role of samba in the area in order tell the story of the main slave port in the Americas, and to look at paths and dreams of reformation of this area at the heart of Rio de Janeiro.

​Évora is an architect and urban developer. His projects include the exhibition Favelité in Paris. He has had exhibitions at MoMA and the Chicago Architecture Biennial. Bezerra studied at Nós do Morro. She was a casting director for City of God (2002). She directed the shorts Mina de fé (2004), best film at Brasilia Film Festival, Os donos da mata (2011), Amanhã já é outono (2014), and one episode of 5 x Favela – Now By Ourselves (2010).​
