Fernando, a lonely ornithologist, is looking for black storks, an endangered species. While observing the sky on a remote river in northern Portugal, he is dragged by the current. Rescued by a Chinese couple who was walking towards Santiago de Compostela, he plunges into a mysterious dark forest, trying to get back to his route. On the way, extreme actions shake him, slowly turning him into an inspired man, multifaceted and, finally, fully enlightened. By João Pedro Rodrigues, best director award at Locarno 2016.
