​When he was 12, Roberto supported the Sandinista Revolution in Nicaragua. He fought the political battle alongisde the Tupamaros. 30 years later, he fights to live as a woman, Stephania, and tries to be accepted by society and by his family. This is a portrait of a woman who had a tempestuous past full of violence, prostitution and political engagement. The story is told with images from her daily life over the last 20 years, combined with interviews with friends and lovers. Winner of the Teddy Award for best documentary, Berlin Film Festival 2015. ​

Aldo Garay

​Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1969. He directed Mi gringa, retrato inconcluso (1998), Waiting (2002), Cerca de las nubes (2006) and El círculo (2008). For The Wedding (2011), he received a human rights honorable mention at BAFICI, and for best documentary at the Havana Film Festival.​
