Trailer

Once upon a time, there were three neighbouring kingdoms with kings and queens, princes and princesses who lived in spectacular castles. A libertine king, a king captivated by a strange animal, a queen desperate to have children, witches and wizards, frightening monsters, bogeymen, old washerwomen, mountebanks and courtesans are the heroes of this free interpretation of the famous tales of Giambattista Basile, subverting the stories that make up a child’s imagination. Directed by Matteo Garrone (Gomorrah), with Salma Hayek and Vincent Cassel. Selected to compete at the Cannes Film Festival.
