Tião Medonho's (Eliezer Gomes) gang steals $27 million from the Central do Brasil money train, but decides to spend little money so as not to arouse suspicion. However, one of the bandits breaks the deal. Based on a true incident, the film represented Brazil at the 1962 Venice Film Festival.
Roberto Farias
Born in Nova Friburgo (RJ) in 1932, Roberto Farias was an assistant director at Companhia Atlântida in the 1950s, where he made his first film, Rico Ri à Toa (1957). In the 1960s, he achieved fame with the feature films Cidade Ameaçada (1960) and Assault on the Pay Train (1962). Roberto Farias founded R. F. Farias, the film production company responsible for a successful trilogy starring Roberto Carlos. He died in May 2018.
