Nelson Pereira dos Santos' films have projected Brazil onto the world's screens for six decades. Pioneer of Cinema Novo, Nelson was, besides director, an ideologue and thinker of his country. Nelson Pereira dos Santos – A Life of Cinema shows us the man behind the camera, his ideas and his dreams. All the richness of Brazilian culture can be seen reflected in his legacy. Aída Marques e Ivelise Ferreira
Aída Marques is professor of the Cinema course at UFF, editor and filmmaker for more than 30 years. She has a masters' in Communications from UFRJ and a Phd in Arts from USP. Ivelise Ferreira began her career at CPCE-UnB, making documentaries. In 1991, worked as Nelson Pereira dos Santos' assessor in the creation of the Cinema and Video Pole of Brasília. From thence, she became director's and producer's assistant in various of his films.
