Based on Naomi Klein’s book with the same name, and with Klein herself as narrator and guide, the film explores how the violent neglect of the planet has put it at risk, and how resisting this abuse and fighting against powerful forces can have a profound impact on our society. Klein points to capitalism as the principal villain, in which the exchange of capital is the only possible relation between human beings, creating selfish people who are uncapable of altruistic acts. The film uses debates and practical examples to discuss and counter each idea. Toronto Festival 2015.
